Dear Big Red, 2020 is a single channel stop-motion animation installation and performance by Leah Clare Michaels. The piece poses a single question of Big Red and the viewer during our ongoing distressing political times: Why have there been no great women presidents?
The stop-motion animation is projected onto a desk in an empty room, invoking the intimacy of a workspace with the connotation of planning and power. The piece is inspired by Linda Nochlin and Zoe Leonard.
